Ecotourism' continues to be widely promoted as providing a range of viable livelihood options that together offer coherent, sustainable conservation solutions. This workshop will employ a concept modelling approach to encourage participants to critically engage with ecotourism from the point of view of its full range of environmental, social and other impacts. It will also explore some of its underlying asumptions about nature and knowledge, as represented in conservation science discourse.
Information to Participants:
Participants should prepare themselves by considering one or two examples of what they believe to constitute 'ecotourism best practice' and be ready to discuss or otherwise refer to these in the context of the workshop.
