Presented by Conservation is about social change, and an important part of this change is getting requisite attention to conservation issues. Media—in the form of news coverage, often plays a make-or-break part in this. However, working with the Press has its own peculiarities and pressures, which need to be fully explored.
Note: This is an open session, with no cap on the maximum number of participants.
Main aims and goal: The workshop will aim to familiarise students and conservationists on the workings of the media, and the best way to mediate to use the media effectively. There will be a strong component of ‘framing’ events to represent fair and effective coverage. ‘Good’ and ‘bad’ examples will be covered and explained.
