Building support for conservation from different sectors
Presented by Gladys Kalema-Zikusoka
Conservation is often difficult to promote in a world with pressing needs especially where people live on less than a dollar a day or where much more is to be “gained” in the short term from destroying rather than protecting the environment. How can conservation become relevant to the every day needs of local communities, policy makers, donors and general public? This workshop will examine different approaches that have been used to build support for conservation from non traditional sectors, and teach you to develop creative ways of making conservation relevant to people beyond the conservation community.
