Reading scientific papers can sometimes be a daunting task, but is nevertheless an essential part of understanding or practicing science.
This workshop will deal with deconstructing a scientific paper, and how to get the main points from papers without too much labour. Asking the right questions of the paper is key, and goes a long way to shaping your summary of a paper. I will also talk about developing reading habits, maintaining notes and records of papers and linking this to your writing. In the workshop we will read sample papers and summarise them, with various formats in mind.
