Working with the Press

Presented by Conservation is about social change, and an important part of this change is getting requisite attention to conservation issues. Media—in the form of news coverage, often plays a make-or-break part in this. However, working with the Press has its own peculiarities and pressures, which need to be fully explored. Note: This is an open session, with no cap on the maximum number of participants. Main aims and goal: The workshop will aim to familiarise students and conservationists on the workings of the media, and the best way to mediate to use the media effectively. There will be a strong component of ‘framing’ events to represent fair and effective coverage. ‘Good’ and ‘bad’ examples will be covered and explained. Workshop organisers:Neha Sinha
