ABOUT SCCS
The Student Conference on Conservation Science (SCCS) – Bengaluru was founded in 2010 by a group of like-minded individuals passionate about encouraging young minds around the country to explore the science and practice of biodiversity conservation. The conference is a multi-day event designed to facilitate interaction among diverse members of the Indian conservation science network and encourage the exchange of research ideas, technical knowledge, and experience related to conserving wildlife. To date, the conference has involved the participation of around 4750 students.
If you are currently an undergraduate or graduate student, post-doc, or early career professional in a conservation-related field - in the natural or social sciences or their intersection - we want to include your perspective!
The conference is designed for young conservation researchers pursuing studies within the fields of conservation science, including (but not limited to) ecology, environmental science, resource management, geography, economics, and social sciences.
SCCS-Bengaluru 2024 is a four-day, physical conference that includes workshops, plenary talks, student poster and oral presentations, and activities to facilitate networking provide an introduction to numerous national international institutions and organisations involved in conservation and associated research. Of these, the plenary sessions scheduled each evening are open for free public attendance. All the sessions are targeted at student capacity-building to aid their conservation careers.
SCCS-Bengaluru 2024 will focus on conservation-related work by students and researchers from Asia and Africa, although registrations to the conference are open to those across the globe. Click here to know more details
