We are very excited to announce that the SCCS-Bengaluru Queer Circle is back for its sixth edition!
The past five Queer Circles have been meaningful spaces for connection, conversation, and community, and we look forward to coming together again this year.

The Queer Circle is a safe, closed, and confidential space for queer/LGBTQIA+ people connected to the wildlife, ecology, and conservation community .
It is an opportunity to meet others, share experiences, listen, connect, and simply spend time in a space where you can be yourself.
Working in wildlife, ecology, and conservation can bring unique experiences and challenges. For queer people, navigating professional spaces, field settings, institutions, and communities can sometimes bring additional considerations around identity, belonging, visibility, safety, and acceptance.
Many of these experiences can be difficult to discuss elsewhere.
The Queer Circle offers a space to have these conversations with people who may understand, while also creating an opportunity for friendship, solidarity, and support.
You do not need to have your identity figured out or use a particular label to participate.
Whether you are out, discreet, questioning, exploring your identity, or simply looking for a space where you can connect with others who understand, you are welcome.
There is no expectation to share anything personal.
You can participate in whatever way feels comfortable for you.
Speak, listen, ask questions, or simply be there.
The Queer Circle is intended to be a completely confidential space.
We understand that being open about one's identity can involve personal and professional considerations. We therefore want participants to have the freedom to decide how they would like to participate.
During the online gathering:
We ask everyone who joins the circle to respect the privacy, identities, boundaries, and experiences of other participants and to maintain the confidentiality of conversations within the group.
There will be no lectures, skill sessions, or formal training.
The Queer Circle is about community.
It is a space to meet people, exchange experiences, laugh, talk, listen, and support one another.
And yes, we promise it will be fun and feel-good too!
The Queer Circle is for queer/LGBTQIA+ people connected to the wildlife, ecology, and conservation community .
You do not need to identify with a particular LGBTQIA+ label, and you do not need to disclose your identity to anyone.
If this space feels relevant to you, you are welcome to join.
We love our allies and recognise how important their support is in creating safer, more inclusive communities.
However, the Queer Circle is a closed peer space for queer/LGBTQIA+ people.
We therefore request allies to support the circle by respecting this boundary and not registering for or attending the gathering.
There are many other ways to be a strong and supportive ally within the wildlife, ecology, and conservation community.
The registration form collects your email address solely to share information about the Queer Circle and meeting details with you .
Your email address will not be shared with anyone else or used for any other purpose.
The meeting details and link will be shared with registered participants closer to the event.
The Queer Circle takes place before the SCCS-Bengaluru 2026 conference.
You do not need to be registered for SCCS-Bengaluru 2026 to join the Queer Circle.
